Higher Education admission policy
You have to meet several requirements before being allowed to study in the Netherlands. First of all you have to have a residence permit. For most courses you need to master the Dutch language, and in some cases a certain command of English is also required. The higher education institutions will determine:
- whether you can be admitted to the course with your foreign diploma
- whether your prior education has any deficiencies. If so, these have to be remedied before the start of the course
- whether you have to take one or several admission tests.
If you are not an official resident of the Netherlands, your personal details must be verified by the educational institution on the basis of a valid proof of identity. Please make sure you send in time a valid copy of your ID-card / Passport to the Admissions Office. Until June 15th the educational institution can verify your personal details. Verification after June 15th means that your application is no longer in treatment so you can not participate in the selection procedure.
Did you receive from DUO letter 3060 with a form about your knowledge of Dutch language and you need a new form, then you can download it here.
